Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine teachers' opinions about alternative measurement and evaluation techniques. Descriptive scanning model was used to collect data in the study. In this research, easily accessible sampling method was used for the participants in the 2022-2023 academic year. "Self-efficacy scale for alternative measurement and evaluation approaches" was used as a data collection tool. The scale was applied to 150 teachers working in schools in Sincan district of Ankara. As a result of the research, teachers' scores for alternative measurement and evaluation techniques; It was observed that significant results were obtained according to the variables of gender, age, seniority and the number of in-service courses taken on new program implementation. In addition, it has been observed that alternative assessment and evaluation causes difficulties in applying in crowded classes in terms of time and cannot be applied by taking individual differences into consideration. Accordingly, it has been suggested that further training be provided for teachers, including theoretical knowledge about alternative assessment and evaluation methods as well as practical information about alternative assessment and evaluation methods.
