Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal the problems faced by school administrators towards students in regions where internal migration occurs. Examining the contribution of parents of migrating students to education, the changes in students' behavior under the influence of migration, and the problems experienced by school administrators in this situation is important as it is a research showing what needs to be done for the success of students. A qualitative method was used to collect data in this research. The study group of the research consists of school administrators in Mamak and Altındağ districts in Ankara in the 2016-2017 academic year. Maximum diversity sampling and criterion sampling, which are purposive sampling methods, were used together in the sample selection of the research. Content analysis was used to analyze the data obtained from the interviews. The data obtained from the interview analysis were first coded and then themes were determined among these codes. Then, codes and themes were arranged. The findings of the study include family economy, culture, physical structure of the school, discipline problems, reluctance to work at school, etc. focused on topics. As a result of the research, students who immigrated experienced exclusion, had problems with dress code, etc. results have been achieved. It has been suggested that seminars should be given to families and that illiterate families should also be given training.
