Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the ethical leadership behaviors of school principals and teachers' job satisfaction. The research is designed in the relational scanning model. The study group of this research consists of 199 teachers working in pre-school, primary and secondary public schools in Bolu city center in the 2023-2024 academic year. In the study, the 'Minosata Job Satisfaction Scale', created by Weiss, Davis, England and Lofquis (1967) and adapted into Turkish by Baycan (1985), was used to determine teachers' job satisfaction levels. In order to determine the level of ethical leadership behavior of school principals, the 'Ethical Leadership Scale', developed by De Hoogh and Den Hartog (2008) and adapted into Turkish by Alkan (2015), was used. The data obtained from the survey forms made digitally via Google form were analyzed using the statistical package program. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were calculated, normality distribution was examined with the Shapiro-Wilk and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, and Kruskal Wallis-H, Mann Whitney-U test and Spearman Correlation analysis were applied according to the results. According to the research findings, there is a moderately positive and significant relationship between the ethical leadership behaviors of school principals and teachers' job satisfaction. In addition, teachers' job satisfaction and their perception of school principals as ethical leaders were high, and their external satisfaction levels were found to be at a medium level. Professional seniority and gender demographic variables did not create a significant difference in job satisfaction and ethical leadership perception. It is thought that the findings that the ethical leadership behaviors of school principals positively affect the job satisfaction of teachers will contribute to the field.
