Depremden Etkilenen İlkokul Öğrencilerinde Görülen Travma Sonrası Stres Bozukluğunun Öğretmen Görüşlerine Göre İncelenmesi
Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to examine Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) seen in primary school students affected by the earthquake, based on teachers' opinions. Within the scope of the research, the prevalence of PTSD symptoms, the types of symptoms, and the effects of these symptoms on students' academic and social lives will be determined through teachers' observations and evaluations. This research will make a unique contribution to the literature by examining the PTSD symptoms of children affected by the earthquake and the effects of these symptoms on the children's lives through teachers' opinions. The study group of the research, in which qualitative research method was used, consists of primary school teachers working in Hatay province. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. According to the results of this research, teachers' opinions and experiences regarding earthquakes and PTSD were made more understandable through themes and sub-themes. Accordingly, it emphasizes understanding the psychological symptoms that teachers observe in students after the earthquake and the social and emotional effects of these symptoms, and the importance of environmental and social supports in the recovery process of students. Finally, it helps us understand the types of psychological support and interventions provided to students after the earthquake and the effectiveness of these interventions.
