Kıraat Farklılıklarının Tefsire Yansıması: İbn Kesîr ve es-Sâbûnî Karşılaştırması
Abstract
The science of recitation (qira'at) is one of the disciplines central to exegesis, not limited to
determining the ways in which the Quranic text is read, but also encompassing the
construction of meaning, the uncovering of linguistic possibilities, and, in some cases, the
evaluation of jurisprudential/doctrinal consequences. This article comparatively examines
how differences in recitation are reflected in exegesis, using Ibn Kathir's Tafsir al-Qur'an al
Azim, a strong representative of the classical, narrative-based exegesis tradition, and
Muhammad Ali al-Sabuni's Safwat al-Tafasir, written in a compiling and didactic style in the
modern period. The study was conducted using document analysis and a comparative
approach within the scope of qualitative research. The findings show that Ibn Kathir,
emphasizing the chain of narration and authenticity, often used recitation narrations as a
constitutive element in the production of rulings and interpretations; This shows that al
Sabuni, while accepting the various readings, functionalized them as an element that
reinforced the meaning and facilitated the reader's understanding without prolonging the
discussion. Example readings from verses 4 of Surah al-Fatiha, 222 of Surah al-Baqarah, 110
of Surah Yusuf, and 6 of Surah al-Ma'idah concretize this methodological distinction.
