Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine teachers' opinions about the reasons for pursuing a non-thesis master's degree in educational administration. The study group of the research consists of 15 participants who work as teachers in the Şarkışla district of Sivas Province and who are continuing or graduating from the non-thesis master's program in the field of Educational Management. In the study where the qualitative research approach was applied, the case study design was adopted. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. As a result of this research, the reasons why teachers pursue a non-thesis master's degree in the field of Educational Administration Program are; It has been observed that the aim is to provide financial gain and to develop in terms of professional, personal and social relationships. However, the program is criticized for reasons such as its lack of interaction, the limited path to getting a doctorate, the lack of a suitable time period, its innovation in our country and its high economic dimension.
